I've been making topicals for decades.
All this practice of learning and researching and concocting and taking notes…
It's beginning to pay off in new and exciting ways.
This morning I looked at the wound on my forearm I suffered during my episode of pruning trees last week, and I noticed it was still scaly and scabby.
Then I thought of the calendula oil I made last summer.
Look at those blossoms! They stop me in my tracks at the farmers market — I've never seen calendula blossoms before. I was inspired to buy some. Brought them home, covered them with avocado oil, and set the jar aside for something like six months.
I didn't think of the calendula oil first this morning though. I thought of castor oil, a recent addition to my toolbox.
I first tried castor oil when I heard that putting a drop in your belly button at night offsets constipation. Turns out it does!
So this morning, I put a drop of castor oil and one drop of calendula oil on that little wound. And I got dramatic and fabulous results. All the flaky skin is gone. The color is pinker, like there's more qi/life energy going to the area. It's just turned from looking sad to looking happy and healing.
So hey. I'm just getting started here.
In fact, this is my first post.
I created Aging LIke a Badass because I want to pass along what I’ve learned.
At 73, there’s a lot to say about aging. Staying hopeful, motivated, and positive as my body ages… like they say, aging’s not for the faint of heart. Let’s not do this alone.
