The final stretch
I'm getting really close to launching what I'm thinking will be the last website I ever build for myself. And I was beginning to wonder why I was even bothering.
As usual, the desire to get started was based on a hefty dose of FOMO (new features! Cool shit!) and my evolving understanding of simple and effective marketing.
I’m what they call it a multipotentialite, and I wove together quite a few strands of the things that I do and am passionate about in my current site (suekearney.com; the url will remain the same). This new site is much more streamlined — having just one offer keeps it really simple. Plus I got to build out a brand new design idea, and that's always fun. I picked a real challenge for myself this time; my new website has only three colors!
Facing doubts
At 73, and with just one paying consulting client in the past year, I couldn't help but wonder why I was bothering at all. Lucky for me, I've learned not to believe everything I think (old! irrelevant!), so I went ahead and set about this website redo anyway.
Simplifying my offer
My working theory: I've been both a buyer and a seller of coaching packages. I've learned firsthand how pressuring it can feel to have to choose from prepackaged deals; I didn't like trying to fit my unique peg into predefined holes.
Streamlining my offerings
So I decided to offer single Strategic Marketing calls. Simple and streamlined. Book a call and get exactly the clarity and resources you need.
How do I help you in a Strategic Marketing call?

And then what?
If we click on your call, if it’s a fit, and if the need is clear to us both, then I’ll offer a package that will help in a deeper way. Could be a short term situation, or maybe a little longer, depending.
So far, this idea is proving itself to be a good one; nimble and client-focused. I just completed the second individual call with a new client, who then opted into a package with me. We defined that package together; this upcoming piece of work will get us to a certain point that meets her immediate needs. At that point, she can decide whether to continue with my help, DIY, or go to somebody else.
