I had a plan—a beautifully crafted one, too. I was going to send out handmade cards with my original paintings to celebrate my birthday with the people I care about most. But the universe, as it sometimes does, had other ideas.
My birthday is in less than two weeks, and harvest season is in full swing. So instead of working on the cards and getting them out on the schedule I made up, I’m fully immersed in the sticky, fragrant world of cannabis.
Lightness of heart means going with the flow—especially when it comes to timing.
The cards will happen, just on a different timeline, and that’s okay. I’m learning to adjust based on what the moment calls for without beating myself up over it. Plus, I’m the one who made up the schedule in the first place! I can create a new one… Freedom!
I’m in the thick of it: harvesting, drying, curing and this year’s crop — what will be turned into capsules, tinctures, topicals, and edibles. The drying room smells earthy and rich, dank and fruity, and my hands are sticky from trimming.
Checking levels morning and night. I feel like the humidity police.
