Welcome to Aging Like a Badass

In January 2024 a decision made me.

What had happened was:

  • At the turn of the year, the word “excellence” started occurring to me, like a lot. When it did I’d find myself wondering how I could raise my level of excellence in my work and my wellness.

  • Then I stumbled upon Mike Birbiglia’s The Old Man and the Pool stand-up where he talks about building stamina and lung capacity by swimming, which obvs caught my attention, given how many activities I’ve given up since the ‘80s because they became too taxing.

  • In the special he mentioned a book, Breath by James Nestor, which I immediately listened to and then bought so I could re-read and scribble all over it.

My life has changed, and I’m encouraged. And I want to encourage you.
