Hi Sue, A quick note so I don't forget by being distracted by the ordinary things in life. Brushing teeth, going pee or poop, watching the sun dip below the horizon. All are ordinary and important. This getting older is at time surprising and some of the surprises, I don't like, but like it or not, what shows up is what shows up. I remember reading in the Introduction of the book, A 1,000 Names for Joy by Byron Katie. second paragraph... suffering is from confusion .... confusion is from arguing with what is. I read that when George was dying and I was exhausted, resentful, and stressed. The moment I read about suffering and arguing with what is, all the sense of loss and resentments melted. They were gone and in that space rushed JOY. We just keep doing what we can do and keep the body moving as long as we can. Take a walk, scrub the the floor, (next on my list) walk the stairs, get out in my community to hear the birds and the dogs. All that brings more energy. good to see your face. Have no idea when I'll be back in California. Still loving Las Cruces NM... Hugs to you my friend...

Gretchen, Not forgetting by being distracted by the minutia of life is a big part of why I’m doing this, creating this/inviting this community.

I’m so glad you’re here. 💜

Me too. I just mopped my floors and believe it or not, my body is tired. My body rebels if I try and do what I did 20 years ago. It says, "You will not." Sometimes I listen and sometimes I don't. I think I'm listening more though because the message gets louder. Good theme for a poem. Title: The Message gets louder... or maybe, As The Message Gets Louder.
